Come away and rest awhile... Take some comfort in the promise of things to come...

What is Heaven?

What is Heaven? To be honest I can't exactly answer that! I can however give you some idea's of what I think it will be like...

If the "other" place is dark, cold, dead, filled with foul smells, evil things, horrid sounds and worse then Heaven must be the complete opposite! That is my conclusion and it seems to make perfect sense! If the "other" place is horrible beyond our worst imaginings then Heaven must be beautiful beyond our imaginings as well...

That is the starting point! So my friend first lets us start with light! It must be filled with light, not blinding light but soft wonderful sunshine type of light! Healing and warming, soft and comforting! Gentle as a spring day, inviting as summer day....

Warmth....healing, inviting, comforting warmth....No cold, no chills, no shivering in the night...

Alive! The heaven's are alive! They are not "void" of life but bursting at the seams with activity...Wonderful activity! No stinging ants, or biting bugs but beautiful butterflies, dragonflies, birds of every color and so much more. Use YOUR imagination!

Wonderful scents, think of all the lovely flowers, some familiar, some not, all wonderfully fragrant filling the air...Soft breezes blowing just like in the tropics, we called them "tradewinds" carrying all kinds of scents that fill you with joy and peace.

Wonderful creatures abound in Heaven... And even though I have not found teachings on this particular matter, after much consideration I imagine that God being the Good God that He is filling Heaven with ALL the animals that were ever loved and lost by their human owners. I also imagine all the animals that were ever mistreated and abused here on earth being rewarded by God for their pain by going to Heaven where they live in perfect peace and happiness. I cannot imagine it being otherwise. If God created animals and He has promised a "new Heaven and new earth" it seems to make sense that there will be animals there or it wouldn't be earth would it? The garden of Eden which was paradise on earth had animals, so I believe they will be there! And repeating myself here it also makes sense to me that God who dries every tear will cause tears of JOY by reuniting us with our lost pets one day...I imagine that God will fill us with so many "good things" that if we had but a taste of it here we could not physically handle the overwhelming joy we'd feel. I believe it would physically take our life if we did. Hence we must wait and anticipate the wonders of Heaven!

Music! I can only imagine the wonderful sounds you will hear when finally in Heaven. I know for myself just hearing a beautiful piece of music can elevate me to heights I cannot describe, can you imagine how it will be in Heaven with all those angelic voices? If anyone here has heard some of the Lord of the Rings music, some of the elven pieces remind me of what I might hear there... What about the birds? Can you imagine the lovely chirping and songs that will fill the air! We have so many birds here at home, the sounds fill the air in the early am till after dark...Sometimes even at night we hear what I call night birds calling, so soothing and peaceful...

Can you imagine such a place, where the weather is always wonderful, the views are incredible, the air is fresh and clean, you can be alone or with others, your favorite pet by your side, so many wonderful emotions just brimming over inside just making you feel like bursting at the seams....

What a wonderful place.....

More to be posted later!

  1. I love whoever said something like "I've always imagined paradise to be a kind of library." That would fit me just perfectly! And I hope to one day find among those shelves a little beautiful, gloriously bright being missing a finger and hair on his feet and his Sam standing near. May we find whatever we seek just as Niggle found his Tree.

Namarie, God bless, Anne Marie :)
